Binding up the broken hearted
Buda United Methodist Church (302 Elm Street) provides a four-week support group for persons who have experienced a death or loss in their circle of family and friends. During the sessions, participants will (1) gain an understanding of their particular grief, (2) explore the nature of the grieving process, (3) tap into social, emotional and spiritual resources, and (4) work on regaining a sense of balance and connection.

The leaders are Jim Philpott and Mary Lu Palmer. Jim and Mary Lu are both retired United Methodist ministers. Dr. Philpott conducted a pastoral counseling practice in Chattanooga for thirty years and was licensed by the state of Tennessee as a Clinical Pastoral Therapist and a Marital and Family Therapist. Reverend Palmer was a licensed local pastor in Wisconsin and led several grief recovery groups in her ministry.

The group will meet in the in the Wesley Building of thechurch campus on the Tuesday nights of February (5, 12, 19, and 26) from7:00-8:30 PM. This program is open to everyone in the community. While there isno cost involved participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions.
