On November 23 we will vote on changes to our endowment fund’s operating protocol. We are voting on guidelines for the operation of the fund. As Pastor Matt has said, the main goal is to simplify and streamline the guidelines, therefore enabling the fund to work more realistically for our congregation moving forward.
To that end, please review three documents prior to the Conference. Rich Johnson generously volunteered to work with the Finance Committee and research/make suggestions on ways that we can move forward on both the operation and the investments of the fund. Thank you, Rich!
The first document, “Buda UMC Permanent Endowment Fund Presentation” shows a side-by-side comparison of the current construction and proposed changes. It is a straightforward presentation of what currently exists and the changes we would like to make, in layman’s terms.
The second, “Guidelines_edits” shows the guidelines with the edits made to the document. Literally, existing lines are crossed out and new language is in red.
The third, “Guidelines_modified” shows the guidelines with the new language that we are voting to adopt. If approved, these will be the new guidelines for the Buda UMC Endowment Fund.
There appears to be a lot of information here because there are multiple documents, but it is straightforward. We will review the information on the 23rd prior to voting.
